Mr. Deepak

I am a dedicated Visiting/Consultant De-addiction Counselor and founder of Shree Manjunatha Counseling Centre. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong foundation, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from Oxford College, Bangalore University.

Early in my career, I immersed myself in the world of social work through internships with various NGOs. These experiences touched on vital issues such as leprosy-affected individuals, human rights, runaway children, and grassroots governance within Gram Panchayats. My passion for making a difference led me to contribute articles to magazines focused on addiction-related topics.

With over 12 years in the field, I currently serve as a Consultant De-Addiction Counselor for several centers in Bangalore. My expertise extends to counseling individuals dealing with Alcohol Use Disorder, Substance Use Disorder, and dependencies like gambling and video games.

The greatest reward in my work is witnessing the transformation of my clients towards sobriety. With the grace of God and our unwavering support, they regain control of their lives and reunite with their families, bringing immense joy.

In my extensive experience, I’ve encountered countless cases, each unique and challenging. Addiction leaves a trail of devastation in its wake, affecting health, family, employment, education, relationships, and finances. My personal connection to addiction, with my late sister’s tragic experience due to my brother-in-law’s gambling addiction, drives my commitment to this field.

This journey has been a continuous quest for wisdom. Every day, I learn from our clients and support groups, witnessing how addiction leads individuals toward the brink of despair and death. These experiences have enriched me with invaluable knowledge.

Our dedication to the cause has also extended to providing de-addiction programs for the Karnataka State Reserve Police (K.S.R.P), benefitting more than 50 officials. This initiative was spearheaded by A.D.G.P. Alok Kumar, an esteemed I.P.S. Officer and Additional Director General of Police.

My passion lies in causes that matter deeply to me, including combating alcoholism, drug addiction, providing family counseling, and addressing depression. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by these issues.
